Information about protests

[edit]

My edits giving more information about the protests of Seunghan's return have been reverted by @Windborne Rider and @HypeBoy. The edits included information that has been widely reported and sourced such as the funeral wreaths that were delivered to the SM building and show the split between the fan base with some fans supporting his removal and others welcoming him back. As the line currently stands it comes off that the entire fan base were upset at the return of Seunghan. Additional prior reverts also removed the continued protests about the decision of the removal of Seunghan both digitally and in person. Leaky.Solar (talk) 15:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should present the facts of the case in a neutral manner relying on what is presented in reliable sources. If reliable sources indicate that there is a notable divide amongst Riize fans then we should include some wording stating as such.
I agree that the way the passage is worded right now would lead an uninformed reader to think that the stated "backlash from fans" indicates that it was a widespread sentiment within the fanbase, which I don't believe to be the case. RachelTensions (talk) 16:08, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just because it is widely reported, it should be included here (WP:NOTEVERYTHING). Take also note of WP:NOTNEWS. And I believe that the current contents of "2024–present.." subsection is in neutral point of view. 𝙹𝚒𝚢𝚊𝚗 忌炎 (𝚃𝚊𝚕𝚔) 17:41, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't say it's exactly NPOV because it just says there was backlash from fans regarding his return to the group but makes no mention of the (even bigger) backlash from fans, mass retailer boycotts, accusations of bullying, etc.[1] regarding his subsequent exit from the group. Omitting the other half of the story isn't neutral.
I think omitting further details is doing disservice to a layperson reading because they would just think that Seunghan exited the group because of "fan backlash" and that was the end of any notable details about the story. RachelTensions (talk) 19:43, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
