GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)

The nominator has not been active in 29 days, but I will review in case they come back after getting a talk page ping.
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a. (prose, spelling, and grammar):
    b. (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
    a. (reference section):
    b. (citations to reliable sources):
    c. (OR):
    d. (copyvio and plagiarism):
Looks like some Nigerian websites copied us as did a speaker booking agency. Other than that, just an attributed quote.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a. (major aspects):
Seems most of his coverage is around acting roles. Had he done any acting since late 2022, just to check?
    b. (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
    a. (images are tagged and non-free content have non-free use rationales):
Two images. Both are CC-BY-SA 2.0 images of him.
    b. (appropriate use with suitable captions):
    Encouragement: Add alt text.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/fail:
I'm left with some source questions. Given the use of ref #1 as one of the refs I'm concerned about and this article's BLP status, I would like these substantively addressed before passing.

(Criteria marked are unassessed)

Copy changes

[edit]
  • He has also appeared in numerous other television shows and movies, both as himself and other characters, before, during, and after the show's run, Reword. A lot of commas even if grammatically correct.
     Done
  • Remove comma after "Roy Jr."
     Done
  • The image caption "Rodriguez at the 2015 Paley Center for Media" is wrong because the Paley Center is a place, not an event. Try "Rodriguez at the Paley Center for Media in 2015".
     Done

Source notes

[edit]
  • What makes Mundo Hispánico and Behind the Voice Actors reliable sources?
For the latter, WP:RSP says that "There is consensus that Behind the Voice Actors is generally reliable for roles credits. Editors agree that its coverage is routine and does not contribute to notability." For the former, I'm not really sure, as its reliability does not seem to have ever been adressed, both within and outside of Wikipedia (I did find this, but this only praises its social significance, nothing more). I could remove all references, but there's no other non-user-generated source supporting the claim that his name has the suffix "II".
    • @An anonymous username, not my real name: Tamzin helped me here, and it turns out the II is likely an error. IMDb assigns people with the same name a Roman numeral, not as part of their name but as a discriminator. [1] Guess what Rico Rodriguez's is. (This error has propagated into a couple dozen articles in ProQuest, too.) Further, Mundo Hispánico in its current state—the site has renamed itself Mundo Now in the last year—smacks of a content mill. If they're regurgitating IMDb, it's worth the time to find better sources to take its stead, which is what I have done. When writing BLPs, we have to be extra picky about sources. So I went out and got better sources—mostly from databases—for pretty much every claim cited to Mundo Hispánico. With this final issue solved, I will be passing the GAN. Spot checks

[edit]
  • 5: Rotten Tomatoes with 2% score for Epic Movie. checkY
  • 7: Where does it say September 2009? Is that something inferred from the series premiere?
Probably; I can't remember if I wrote that myself. Should be ok per WP:V, but correct me if I'm wrong.
  • 15: Behind the Voice Actors cast listing includes Hyland and Rodriguez. Still wanting information as to source quality.
    Provided.
  • 16: Rotten Tomatoes cast listing includes Rico Rodríguez for El Americano. checkY
  • 20: Fox News report. Fox News is currently acceptable for stories unrelated to politics and science. checkY
