Confusion with another Richard Smith
[edit]I've just removed several sentences I added in error a month or so ago. User:Charles Matthews discovered that Charlotte Turner Smith married the son of another Richard Smith, known to the LBS as "Richard Smith of Islington". This Wikipedia article, RS (EIC), concerns someone who was first a military man, through which he became wealthy and involved himself in politics; Richard Smith of Islington was, as far as I can see, solely commercial.
