"On October 30, 1995, he assumed the position of CEO at Valspar, succeeding C. Angus Wurtele in that position.[8] He went on to replace Wurtele as chairman in February 1995, ... " It sounds like he became CEO first, and then became chairman. If so, then the dates are wrong, because October 30, 1995 was after February 1995.
