HI CT55555 - Yes, I was concerned by a number of things that combined to question notability - that the article was in part sourced to Poplak's publisher and his own journalistic work; to articles like source 3 (CBC) which quote him as a 'talking head' and does not constitute significant coverage. I was also concerned that Poplak is actually co-author of 'Kenk', not sole author (Nick Marinkovich (Author), Jason Gilmore (Author), Alex Jansen (Author), Richard Poplak (Author) on Amazon) and that Pop Sandbox, the publisher of the book, was effectively a single purpose entity - ie: that the book is, despite having garnered reviews, a self-published work. I do consider a notability tag, as any other tag, a request for a second pair of eyes (rather than a damning indictment!) - I didn't think it was enough to go to AfD, but I did think it raised some valid questions. If you'd like to remove the tag, I'd of course have no objections. Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 04:08, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You were right that the citations were not very independent. I've improved that. I think he is the sole author, the others are illustrators/publishers or other roles. You have a point about self published, that is true, but the publishers hired him, based on what I read today. But it still got independent reviews in many reliable sources, so I think that's fine. On top of all of that, he's the co director in a notable film. That is also enough for WP:CREATIVE in my opinion.
