The New York Times obituary (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F05E1D91E3FF93AA25753C1A961958260) differs from whoever wrote this article on 2 points:

It gives the publication date of The Wind Cannot Read as 1947 rather than 1948 - could this be accounted for by different US and UK publication dates?

It gives the cause of death as lung cancer rather than throat cancer.
