[edit]Actually, O'Neil and Jim Berry created Dragon and Ben Turner for the prose novel Dragon's Fists.
Students of the Dragon
[edit]According to the ravamped origin and history doen by Chuck Dixon, in issue #7 page.14 you clearly see the students he trained; The Question, Bruce wayne, Catwoman, Connor Hawke, Barbera Gordon, and Dick Grayson. Shouldn't these changes be posted under his "Student of the Dragon" -
Debatable, but I'm leaning toward no, at least not until we get a little more info on what's canon in the "New Earth". Honestly, pretty much every one of those students is a continuity headache... no, continuity migraine. As it stands, his interaction with Huntress in Birds of Prey seemed to be more consistent with the earlier version of Richard Dragon, and the Question appearing in 52 is supposedly the O-Neil version that was taught both to think and to fight by Richard. Since we're getting references that Richard had been at a point in his life where he was "zen" enough to train those two hotheads, it's hard to argue that Dixon's story is still canon - at least not all of it. You wouldn't necesarily be wrong for putting the names above on the list, but I suspect that, whatever parts of Dixon's series are still canon, the list of his students isn't. Without more info, and considering the timeline and continuity difficulties that list raised, I think the best stance is to "wait and see" for a while.D1Puck1T 02:09, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Regarding Shiva, when did she study under Dragon? To the best of my knowledge she never actually studied under him in any continuity. Sparred with him, sure, maybe traded ponters, but listing her as a student seems bizarro.D1Puck1T 22:08, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]When I edited that part in, I never intended the last lines to imply that Dibny was headed toward Parbat because Dragon and Montoya were there, just that he resolved something and requested that the helmet of Nabu take him there, the same location where Dragon happened to still be training Montoya. You could have left that in, especially if you are going to leave a slight recap of the prior issue in there, instead of hastily jumping on it as part of a speculatory theory in regard to Dibny possibly going there to confront Dragon or Montoya. 71.156.82.137 05:54, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Is there no better picture of Richard Dragon for the box?

== Revised History == The final paragraph here is a little more speculative than I think Wikipedia prefers. It isn't contradictory for a character to have problems with self-pity and doubt early in life, only to mature and help others overcome those same problems. |
