– The subject in the name of the page titled simply Richard Chase was a gruesome murderer. Per WP:POV and WP:BLP guidelines, it does not seem nice for the primary use of a name to be that of a murderer when there are other much nicer people with the same name. The murderer with this name is not famously recognized in all households, so there is no reason to give him priority in the title over the others. Hellno2 (talk) 05:33, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, I would think not have the murderer as the primary topic because other people with the same name are nicer is what would be a violation of WP:NPOV since that would be require us to make a moral judgement. I also don't see how WP:BLP applies here since that calls for removal or unsourced or weakly sources contensious material about living people so it appears to have no relevance regarding whether or not the murderer is the primary topic for Richard Case. I am not opposing at this time since this person in question could very well not be the primary topic but there needs to better reasons that what have been provided so far to make that case.--199.91.207.3 (talk) 18:21, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. Our article naming policy certainly has nothing to do with the relative niceness of the subjects, but with their notability. Nice or not, the murderer seems to be by far the more notable of the two Richard Chases on whom we have articles. -- Necrothesp (talk) 21:12, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
