Is Ribbleton a town?
[edit]The List of places in Preston, Lancashire describes Ribbleton as a "town" (along with Ashton-on-Ribble, Fulwood and Lea). I wouldn't describe any of these as towns. What do others think? --Dr Greg (talk) 18:13, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
None of them are, or ever were, towns. I would think that they are former villages and their environments now absorbed as suburbs and covering greater in popular culture than their modern ward areas. Fulwood had its own council before local government reorganisation in 1974 but was then and remains a sleeper suburb. Prestonmag (talk) 01:24, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
