Film career
[edit]I don't see a reference here to Ifans' roles as Nutbeem in The Shipping News.Calmcanuck (talk) 03:24, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
He also played the DJ Gavin in Pirate Radio — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.149.80.41 (talk) 01:00, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Date of Birth
[edit]There is an issue on either the Dutch and English pages about this man's dat of birth, or on the Welsh page. The Welsh page maintains M. Ifans was born in 1968, the other pages claim he was born in 1967.
I don't know which is true. Could someone in the know please correct the wrong pages?
Cheers,

- It's 1967. He said he was 44. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 07:25, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have looked into this in response to Tony Holkham's citation needed tag. The existing date may be based on the ancestry.com citation, but this should not be relied on for WP:BLP articles as it is probably based on birth records which are a primary source, see WP:BLPPRIMARY. Rhys Evans is a common name is Wales, and we would need good evidence for a firm identification in birth records. I have found a good source, a biography on a BBC website.[1] This gives 22 July 1968 and confirms Haverfordwest. The clickonline link provided by All Hallow's Wraith is archived here. The article says that he was 44, presumably when the article was published on 3 July 2012, implying that he was born between 4 July 1967 and 3 July 1968. The BBC's birth date is 19 days later than this. The BBC is a more reliable organisation than clickonline.com (their 'About us' page is here), so we should use the BBC's date.
