Reynoldsburg, we have a problem
[edit]This article is a mess. I've removed all the confusing and unsourced stuff and we need to start over. It appears that this city now has two high schools...or is it three? Apparently the original school that preceded the current schools was the titular school, correct? One of the two or three schools that exist now is in the building the old school was in, correct? What programs are shared between the schools?
Going forward, we need to establish a history of Reynoldsburg High School. This article should contain that. Possibly, and this is of course open for discussion, we then page move this article to the name of the school that now occupies its building. Or we keep this article with all the history of Reynoldsburg High School, including historical athletics (the only school in the OHSAA directory with Reynoldsburg in its name is Reynoldsburg eSTEM) and notables, and end it at the year the split occurred. Either way, we will need to create two or three new articles. I am frankly at a loss. Input from the local area, or at least from someone with access to the local media resources is absolutely required.
Clearly, there is no such thing as Reynoldsburg High Schools. NCES lists three high schools in the city. There are three principals mentioned in the article. Sources are definitely needed. Let's do the collaborative thing that Wikipedia does and figure out the answers. I'm going to ping JonRidinger here, as he has written some fine articles on Ohio schools and may be able to guide us to some usable sources. Also pinging FA87932471, and C.Fred, as registered editors that have edited here recently. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 05:57, 8 June 2019 (UTC) , co-coordinator, WikiProject Schools
- Just getting to this after a break from Wikipedia and some travels/end of the school year. Yeah, this thing is a mess! From their own website, the high school is divided into four, soon to be five, academies, which each has its own "academy leader" (staff directory lists them as principals). Three are housed at the Livingston Street campus and the other two at the Summit Street campus. They're starting a 9th grade academy in the fall. See https://www.thisweeknews.com/news/20190226/four-pillars-will-anchor-reynoldsburgs-9x-impact-program and https://www.thisweeknews.com/news/20190325/contractor-chosen-to-remodel-reynoldsburg-high-school. They are all collectively RHS with the same athletic teams and such, so there's one RHS, but two locations. --JonRidinger (talk) 23:03, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
School Mascot?
[edit]Hello everyone!
It seems like the status of the mascot has been under some scrutiny for a long time. I'm a current student at this school and I'd like to share some information with you all!
I, personally, am unaware of any name changes to the mascot. He is still widely referred to, by both staff and students as "Rocky the Raider." His icon, most frequently used with sports and merch, is referred to as a "Raider Head" as well.
I also believe he is still active! I have seen him in school events such as parades and pep rallies as recently as April 8th! There are also pictures of him on the school's Facebook. So we definitely have a mascot, but how do we find and cite his name?
Thanks in advance for the help! Astraphobica (talk) 19:26, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
