Ref Improve
[edit]Just curious what additional references are needed in this article to improve it. There are no "citation needed" tags and the few claims are cited, the rest is pure description of the content which can only be referenced by the original work. Dabbler (talk) 11:41, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
1909/1910 serial
[edit]Some/all of the prose and verse was published in The Delineator vols 74-76, beginning September 1909, issue 74:3, page 196 (e-copy).
Three artists are credited in Contents near the front of each issue. Wording varies. For instance:
- "Illustrations by Frank Craig and Frederic Dorr Steele; the largest engraved on wood by F. H. Wellington" --Contents issue 74:6 (Dec 1909) p467 (about 4th in series, p502)
- "Illustration engraved on wood by F. T. Wellington from a drawing by Frank Craig.
- "Decorations by Frederic Dorr Steele" --8th in series issue 76:1 (Jul 1910) p6
Evidently the series skips some monthly issues.
