[edit]So, does this mean that Homer did shoot Mr. Burns? 71.75.161.147 01:22, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
If Homer really did shoot Mr. Burns then it's unlikely Mr. Burns would have announced Maggie as the killer. Even if you've just recovered from being shot and are over 104 years old it's very hard to confuse a toddler with a full-grown adult.
It should be noted that Marge's story of revenge is modeled after the storyline of The Count of Monte Cristo.
Whoever said that "Revenge of the Geeks" is based on "Revenge of the Nerds," I have never seen "Revenge of the Nerds," but from what I can tell, they share very few similarities other than the title and the general theme. If I don't hear any counterarguments soon, I'm going to remove that reference. Con587 03:11, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree that the story of "Revenge of the Geeks" is not based on the story of "Revenge of the Nerds." But the reference should still reflect where the title comes from. Aside from that the title itself was made to look like the same font used in the title of "Nerds." So it is a cultural reference, just misstated as a story reference by the previous contributor.Danleary25 19:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
However, the addition "In all Simpsons episodes of the "three stories" format, "Revenge of the Geeks" is the first not to be directly based off of a previously existing story/person" sounds very wrong to me. I don't have examples right now but I'm almost certain that there have been Halloween stories that were original and not parodies or based on previously established stories. This should be removed unless there are arguments as well. Danleary25 19:48, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Referring to non-Halloween episodes of this format, I'm fairly sure that this is true. Then again, Trilogy of Error is kind of a gray area here as to whether it fits this category. I'll look into it. Con587 20:48, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay... If that statement is taken to refer to Simpsons Bible Stories, Tales from the Public Domain, Margical History Tour, and Simpsons Christmas Stories, it's true. But is there enough of a distinction between these (episodes in which there are three stories on a common theme) and episodes such as Trilogy of Error and The Simpsons Spin-off Showcase to make this comment relevant? I think it is noteworthy, but I suppose the episode type is ambiguous at best. Con587 20:55, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Ehh, never mind. There was a segment from the Christmas one that was original anyway. Con587 20:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I think the "rat helmet" in the Count of Monte Fatso was a reference to 1984, but is that too pedantic?
Based on Batman Begins?
[edit]Is the segment Bartman Begins really based on Batman Begins? I think it is based on many different Batman works in different mediums. The setting looks like that of Batman, the Animated Series, some scenes are from comics or the Tim Burton movie. 81.182.237.221 (talk) 20:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Plain English
[edit]In the couch gag section it now reads "(save Maggie, who is already a baby)".
I assume that "save" means "except" here. I see no good reason to write it in such an IMO difficult way, so I will rewrite it to read: "(except for Maggie, who is already a baby)." if I hear no objections. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Driber (talk • contribs) 17:31, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Incorrect capitalization
[edit]Should be moved to lowercase "is" -> Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.6.208.49 (talk) 22:57, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
