Cleanup
I worked on it a bit, it is better although it could still use some improvement. Someone with UK or Euro accounting background should look at my edits, my background is US accounting so I am taking for granted that some of the previous writing is correct. Pmeisel 21:37, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Is this the right page for 'write-downs'?
'Write-down' has become a very widely used phrase in the global media in the last few years. I came to wiki looking for a precise definition and an explanation of how a writedown works. I was redirected to depreciation which is a different concept.
I have thus redirected Write-down to this page, which while not perfect is a better match. One problem is there is no mention of 'Write-downs' on this page. My accounting knowledge is too weak to attempt writing a new section for this page. Can someone do so please? RedTomato (talk) 11:10, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
