Reubens (disambiguation) → Reubens – WP:NOPT, no article with this name. Jax 0677 (talk) 02:29, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Oppose The comedian looks like the primary topic to me. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:03, 23 March 2024 (UTC)- Support. I was actually expecting Peter Paul Rubens here, and I assume I'm not the only one who thought his name to be "Reubens". As far as Reubens, the actor and comedian was not known by this mononym, and the plural of Reuben sandwich is definitely plausible. No primary topic. 162 etc. (talk) 17:13, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Shouldn't we merge Reubens (disambiguation) with Rubens (disambiguation) and Reubens to Rubens (disambiguation) then? In any event I was neglecting the people with the other spelling before so have struck my oppose. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:20, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Reuben and Ruben are the same article, so that is a possibility; that is however outside the scope of this RM. 162 etc. (talk) 17:33, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Reply - IMHO, Reubens (disambiguation) and Rubens (disambiguation) should exist only as redirects to (a) disambiguation page(s) titled either Reubens and/or Rubens (I am OK with either one or both of these articles being disambiguation pages). --Jax 0677 (talk) 22:58, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- "that is however outside the scope of this RM." It can still be discussed here, though. — AjaxSmack 17:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- As long as this doesn't lead to someone taking the cudgel of WP:NAMELIST and move all of those people from the list and stuffs them behind yet another click. --Joy (talk) 08:59, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

- Support the restaurant comes up first on Google. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:27, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- When I saw a link to this, the first thing that came to mind was "is this about that painter, or is that spelled differently?". Of course, we should not be guided by what first comes to mind to any particular editor. Let's look at some statistics instead - all-time page views for the redirect, the disambiguation page and various relevant items indicate that there's consistently comparable, even larger, traffic at the navigation element, and a lot of organic interest in the restaurant. This indicates that the primary redirect isn't necessarily warranted. It is common for people to be referred to by their last name, but these slight differences in spelling might be too subtle for the average reader as well, and obviously other topics might be getting unduly ignored as well. We should try moving to full disambiguation to see if that improves reader outcomes. (Support) --Joy (talk) 10:13, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- The traffic spike last year intrigued me, and then I realized that this was used as a plural of "Reuben", and there is another article about two Reuben brothers, the 'Reubens', the readers were probably looking for. --Joy (talk) 10:15, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support per Peter Paul Rubens; support a merger of the two DAB pages; oppose the title "Rubens" as a DAB page. — AjaxSmack 17:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- @AjaxSmack why oppose using "Rubens" as the base name, when that's used by the majority of documented list items? --Joy (talk) 09:00, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- It should continue to redirect to Peter Paul Rubens. Rubens (disambiguation) is fine, though. — AjaxSmack 14:24, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- @AjaxSmack ah, you're actually talking there about what's at Talk:Rubens (disambiguation)#Requested move 23 March 2024 :) --Joy (talk) 15:34, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose and Redirect Reubens to Peter Paul Rubens. Common misspelling and easily the primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- We see around 60 monthly views of "Reubens" and around 110 monthly views of "Reubens (disambiguation)", and the clickstreams show 0-30 from the current redirect destination and 20-60 from the disambiguation page. So while it's clear that there is an appreciable amount of readers who could benefit from us helping them navigate, it's not clear at all that their volume satisfies the criteria of WP:PTOPIC/WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT when it's consistently only a minority of Reubens traffic. (We should go with disambiguation first, then check the stats later if a further change is needed.) --Joy (talk) 18:37, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
