[edit]I think this charity only operates in England?
Certainly from looking at their structure, from their website - http://www.rethink.org/contact_us.html
The Northern Irish equivalent is Mind Wise New Vision, the Scottish body is still called the NSF, and in Wales it operates under Hafal. 94.168.147.34 (talk) 09:31, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
removal of critisicm of early psychosis
[edit]Despite my obvious non-WP:NPOV I have removed the sentence as the article is very out of date and the criticisms are no longer valid. I could add the new evidence here, but this is already on the early psychosis article and would drift away from the core article .Happy to discuss futher. cheers Earlypsychosis (talk) 08:05, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- All those criticisms from 2003[1], and more, are discussed in ongoing terms in this 2009 literature review.[2] Including lack of evidence of sustained benefit, arbitrary definitions of key concepts, a danger of stigmatizing young people and over-medicalizing common experiences, questionable benefits from antipsychotics and serious adverse effects especially in younger people, and focusing expertise and resources on select individuals and away from those most in need.
- I agree this article isn't really the place to cover these points though (the early intervention article really does need to though...) - but since it does describe a process of acceptance and consensus since 1995, it should also indicate the non-acceptance and skepticism (that's not even to mention alternative approaches like the Hearing Voices Movement.
