Kato's MAP policy and Veblen goods
Recent discussion on some forum quotes Kato's MAP policy, which appears to provide another rationale for MAP:
"We at Kato USA have determined that we shall not support advertising, cooperative advertising or promotional materials that have the effect of diminishing or detracting from the perceived value of Kato products."
This appears to mean that MAP is intended to maintain the Veblen characteristics of the goods. Are there other published MAP policies that the article can cite as examples? --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 20:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Extras
This article should include that, since the Leegin Case, it has been possible to sue dealers who violate a Minimum Resale Price, so it is better to set one instead of a Minimum Advertised Price which forces a manufacturer to monitor or hire somebody to monitor dealer pricing. Also that, setting a Minimum Resale Price lets the customer skip price shopping 76.29.88.96 (talk) 00:12, 27 May 2010 (UTC).
Dispute
Looks like the neutrality of this page has been "disputed" since March 2009, with few edits and no discussion on the talk page. If no one speaks up, I'm going to remove the dispute tag.71.114.60.88 (talk) 18:46, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
