What is Requirements management?
[edit]This article seems to be more about Requirements engineering or Requirements analysis. Requirements management is more about managing the requirements, that includes controlling and tracking the requirements, mostly after they have been created in the first place. Requirement management includes things like change management and traceability. Reference: Pressman, Scott. Software Engineering: A Practitioner's Approach. Sixth Edition, International, p 180. Frankly this page is rubbish and needs a rewrite. All the pages relating to software/project requirements are in a similar state. I've created a wikia workspace where I am going to have a crack at rewriting the whole lot. Jump across if you want to help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Craigwbrown (talk • contribs) 08:56, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Its funny but I agree this page is in a bad shape. The definition of "requirement" is also not ok and from a pure delivery perspective. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.223.75.207 (talk) 17:55, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Tools
[edit]Requirements management is independent of tools. It is probably time to delete all links to all tools so I am about to do it.
At best there could be a link to another page where tools are listed and maybe compared, but in my view this is not required. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.180.156.199 (talk) 08:50, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
A year later and I get around to it :) Craigwbrown (talk) 05:40, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- ==Tools==
- There exist both desktop and Web-based tools for requirements management. A Web-based requirements tool can be installed at the customer′s datacenter or can be offered as an on-demand requirements management platform.[1]
- ===SysML===
- The system engineering modeling language SysML incorporates a requirements diagram allowing the developer to graphically organize, manage, and trace requirements.[citation needed]

External link cleanup
[edit]There are many links from companies in the "external" section, bordering on advertisement. As per WP:NOTADVERTISING, I will remove those from companies, unless I get feedback from anyone here.
I plan to do that in about 24 hours.
