Probably some distinction should be made between Camus's version and the English language stagings of the late 1959 in New York and at the Royal Court Theatre in London (in late 1957) involving Ruth Ford ( credited with the adaptation by the NYT in 1959) and Zachary Scott, directed by Tony Richardson, who later filmed a version of both "Requiem for a Nun" AND "Sanctuary" (as "Sanctuary") with a script mainly blocked out by Richard Zanuck.
