Needs rewrite
Very poor article (=foggy and sloppy). Probably it would be the best to delete it (giving the opportunity for someone to rewrite it) or completly rewrite it by authors, focusing on clear summary of ideas and the target audience (wide public). -- 12 Mar 2010, SpeoLori —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.24.57.69 (talk) 18:33, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Deleted unimportant quote
I have deleted the following quote which was at the beginning of the article because I think it is not important enough to be in such place.
Cassio. Reputation, reputation, reputation! O! I have lost my reputation. I have lost the immortal part of myself, and what remains is bestial. My reputation, Iago, my reputation!
Iago. As I am an honest man, I thought you had received some bodily wound; there is more offence in that than in reputation. Reputation is an idle and most false imposition; oft got without merit, and lost without deserving: you have lost no reputation at all, unless you repute yourself such a loser. What! man; there are ways to recover the general again; you are but now cast in his mood, a punishment more in policy than in malice; even so as one would beat his offenceless dog to affright an imperious lion. Sue to him again, and he is yours.
Shakespeare, Othello, the Moor of Venice Act II. Scene III, 225-226. Our italics.

Coin a new lexical item
According to WP:OR policy, proposition of a new lexical item cannot be set forth in an article. I refer to the wording:
"At this point we can propose to coin a new lexical item, image, whose character should be immediately evident from the following: ..."
I recommend the finding of another (parallel) published author/source using the term image as essentially defined in the article by the contributor (in equivalent terms) and cite the supportive source-text in footnote. The wording in the article could be emended thus:
"At this point we can propose with [ here name the author/source and <ref> ] to use a relatively new lexical item, the synonym "image," whose character should be immediately evident from the following: ..."

- Apart from this neologism problem, the sentence quoted above also has an inappropriate essay-like tone, using the first-person we inappropriately. In fact, the whole section A cognitive view of reputation has serious issues. The section appears to be based on Chapter 3 of [Conte, Rosaria; Paolucci, Mario (2002). Reputation in Artificial Societies: Social Beliefs for Social Order. Kluwer Academic Publishers. ISBN 978-1-4020-7186-7.], which appears to be a primary source as far as this section's subject is concerned. --Lambiam 14:34, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed. Seems to me a Wikified re-write of the article, particularly of the problematical section, could be achieved without use of the contributor's proposed synonym by simply focussing on the subject itself. A single reference to Social Beliefs for Social Order as you cited above might possibly be relevant in footnote such as see...for a discussion; before putting it in, however, its inclusion should first be discussed here, but I don't really see that as happening. All text representing the contributor's apparent use of the article as a platform of opportunity to propose his/her own original research to illustrate a personal perception of a recent development in business terminology or public relations communication could be excised. Cf. the Oxford English Dictionary entries "image" (cf. "façade") and "reputation" (cf. "name"). The topic itself merits treatment. The article could be saved with a re-write in neutral tone and without the neologism. I'll look at it again in 3 or 4 months to see what, if anything, might be done, and see what the community says or has done with the article. --Humaniphilon (talk) 07:31, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
