"Having been temporary members of the Nacional Democratic Union (UDN), they announced their withdrawal from the UDN on August 14, 1945" Who is "they"?
"The party elected..." this is wrong, in an election only voters can elect. The only way a party would elect is if members of the party are voting on who will be their leader. Ways to express what you mean in English include: "the party won XX seats/mandates", "the party's results increased/decreased to XX seats", "finished with XX seats", "lost seats compared to the last election", "voters elected # representatives from the party", etc.
