No, I'm afraid he didn't. The French phrase "jeunesse dorée" only refers to the people involved, i.e. they themselves are "gilded youth", but do not live or have one. What they have (rather than "live", which is surely a Gallicism) is "a privileged upbringing" or "a privileged youth", or else they "come from a privileged background".
