Organization of the Markers and Monuments
[edit]As the page currently is, every year that a new marker at Mountain Meadows was added, there is a separate section for that marker, and the year this new marker was constructed is given as the section title (Example: 1859, 1932, 1990, etc.). Do we agree that this is a good idea for organizing the separate markers at the site?
I ask this because a recent edit by User:Tinosa added a new section for July 1, 1864, when Lorenzo Brown passed by the marker and noticed that some had carved a sentence into the wooden cross. I feel that sections should only be created for the separate markers and any information about the marker, such as this carving, should be written under that marker's section versus having its own section. Hope this makes sense, any comments? Mangoman88 (talk) 06:06, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Why was the monument repeatedly dismantled?
[edit]The article mentions that the monument was repeatedly torn down or vandalized over the years. Is there any indication of by whom or why? The description of the first dismantling in 1861 describes Brigham Young as reportedly saying "Vengeance is mine, and I have taken a little" with regards to the monument. What was meant by this? I find this rather confusing. 67.188.230.128 (talk) 01:56, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
