Was going to make "Touch the Sky" a GA before I reviewed one again, but there's nearly 20 in the que so I'll take this on. --Kyle Peake (talk) 06:28, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Also, why is David Campbell not mentioned in the lead when he also composed the song? I know he's not a lyricist but he still helped compose it.
  • Add release year of the album in brackets
  • "with Celtic and folk influences and" → "with Celtic and folk influences, and" for separation of description i.e grammar rule
  • "who praised its sound" → "who praised the sound" as you say it later in the sentence
  • Don't think the second sentence is notable for the lead
  • "was released to both Christian and mainstream radio, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart and No. 22 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart; it ranked as one of the most-played songs of 2006 on Christian radio." → "was released to Christian radio stations on August 5, 2005, and ranked as one of the most-played songs of 2006 on Christian radio. It peaked at number nine on the Billboard Christian Songs and number 22 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts respectively." remember you don't write out numbers under 11 as numbers

Background and recording

[edit]
  • Add a picture of Chapman in here with appropriate text; something like "Chapman helped movie studios attract a Christian audience." and remember alt text
  • "widely popular among Christians" → "widely popular among this audience"
  • Remove WikiLink to the accompanying album as you shouldn't WikiLink it in the body
  • "to Christians" → "to a Christian audience" to maintain consistency
  • "learned of the production of a" → "learned of the production behind a"
  • "novel; although Chapman had read most of Lewis’s Christian theological works, he had" → "novel. Though Chapman had already read most of Lewis's Christian theological works, he had"
  • Should Narnia books WikiLink to the appropriate page?
  • "he was impressed" → "Chapman was impressed"
  • "ultimately settling on "Remembering You" as" → "ultimately settling on "Remembering You", as"
  • "It was produced" → "The song was produced" to specify it's not the strings only
  • "The song was recorded" → "It was recorded"

Composition

[edit]
  • WikiLink Pop music on the mention of pop in the sample's text
  • "and folk influences[10] as well" → "and folk influences,[10] as well"
  • "prominent usage of strings throughout the song" → "prominent usage of strings throughout"
  • "Chapman's recent singles" → "Chapman's previous singles" as this is dated now and in the future will be too
  • "or as having a Christian message" → "or having a Christian message"
  • The lyrics mentioned, can you exp so it's known why like what's the meaning of them?
  • "they would remember" → "the characters would remember"

Critical reception and accolades

[edit]
  • Section belongs below release and promotion
  • Add the fact the reviews were positive at the top
  • "Russ Breimeier of Christianity Today" → "Breimeier" as you have already referenced his identity
  • "praised the song as" → "praised the song for"
  • "'God manifested in nature' piece"" → "'God manifested in nature' piece"
  • "the song as being" → "the song for being"
  • "and said it" → "and said that it"
  • "comparing it to the" → "which he compared to the"

Release and promotion

[edit]
  • "The song was released to radio on August 3, 2005" → "The song was serviced to US Christian radio stations on August 3, 2005"
  • "and as a digital download on August 23, 2005" → "and released for digital download on August 23"
  • Shouldn't the performance tracks EP be referenced somewhere here?
  • WikiLink EMI
  • "with Walt Disney Pictures" → "with Disney"
  • Give the music video its own para in the section
  • "An accompanying music video for" → "An accompanying music video for"
  • "online on the" → "online via the"
  • "featured scenes" → "features scenes" as it still exists
  • "like the lamppost" → "including the lamppost"
  • "The video used" → "The visual used"
  • "which represents evil" → "which represent evil" as you're talking about two things
  • "before appearing Christian radio" → "before appearing on Christian radio"
  • Add the number it initially charted at on the first chart mentioned (34)
  • All of numbers should be wrote out like "number seven" instead of "No. 7" for example, with the exception of number 22
  • "It also peaked at No. 8 on the..." tedious to write chart every time; just write the names of all of the charts without calling them charts straight afterwards and end the sentence with "charts respectively"
  • "and Christian AC Songs chart" → "and Christian AC Songs charts respectively" as you mention another chart in this sentence previously

Track listing

[edit]
  • Retitle to track listings as multiple are mentioned

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • (Credits from the album liner notes) → Credits adapted from the album liner notes
  • Mention the composers and lyricists as they are cited from liner notes

Release and radio history

[edit]
  • Section belongs below charts
  • Retitle to Release history
  • Move Territory to the far left and retitle Country
  • Give refs own column; see "Fade"
  • Why no mention of the EP?
