Emmy
[edit]Added minor edits, episode and character tables, drawing on various web sources and memory of this great cop drama series with hope that other editors will add and correct this appreciation the show. Unsure about a previous contributor's attribution of the Best Drama Emmy for two specific episodes -- have not found a reference for this and it is not documented on the International Emmys website Gondwanabe (talk) 03:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I added the reference for the award -- the mention of the two specific episodes appears incorrect and I removed it. — CactusWriter | needles 09:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Revealing info
[edit]I quite like the way this is going. Should it be revealed in Ingrid's bio that Tobias dies though? Pureaddiction (talk) 09:56, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- If that is what happens in that episode, then, yes, it should be revealed. The most important plot points should be included in each episode description. These descriptions should be encyclopedic and comprehensive. That is, each includes the important points from start to finish -- including the conclusion or "spoilers". This is as opposed to taglines or tv guide style info which are promotional and considered advertising. (See Wikipedia:Plot summaries#The spoiler issue). Although these descriptions can't cover the entire episode in the detail that a plot summary on an individual article does -- the principle still holds. And, by the way, I am also pleased to see the list getting filled out. I think the recent efforts are great. — CactusWriter | needles 11:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- I understand in terms of the episode synopses it should be included. I was thinking about the Ingrid's quick character biography. If someone reads the episode synopses they should expect spoilers but a quick description of the characters I am not so sure about. I am happy to see the way it's going. Considering last I checked it was pretty bare. Pureaddiction (talk) 21:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Okay - sorry for my original misunderstanding. If the information is critical to her character then, yes, it should be included as part of the description. An encyclopedic article simply tries to contain all relevant information. A reader should gain as complete an understanding of the show as possible without needing to see it. — CactusWriter | needles 08:30, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Locations
[edit]Each episode takes place in a different city in the Danish province (i.e. outside Copenhagen). This city is named in the begiing and shown in small scenes. Shouldn't we therefore also list the different locations? Krimidoedel 21 February 2009
DVD info
[edit]Please add information about DVDs.
In the European PAL area it seems like the DVD sets match the four original Danish broadcast series of 32 episodes. But in the US the 32 episodes were repackaged into 3 sets, apparently without acknowledgement of the re-arrangement.
- Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only.)
- Studio: MHz Networks
- Unrated (Not Rated)
Unit One: Series 1 Number of discs: 4 DVD Release Date: October 21, 2014 Run Time: 687 minutes
Unit One: Series 2 Number of discs: 4 DVD Release Date: October 21, 2014 Run Time: 686 minutes
Unit One: Series 3 Number of discs: 3 DVD Release Date: October 21, 2014 Run Time: 496 minutes
"In a somewhat unusual decision, the DVD label MHZ has released the entire series on three different collections. These are NOT divided by customary seasons, but by the number of episodes. ... kind of weird to have Season Two (for example) stop on Set One and resume on Set Two...
- 1) Set One contains Episodes 1-12 which represent all of Season One (from 2000) and some of Season Two (from 2001). It's a four disc set with three, hour long episodes per disc.
- 2) Set Two contains episodes 13-24 which conclude Season Two and continue into Season Three (from 2002). It is also a four disc set.
- 3) Set Three has the remaining episodes (25-32) representing the end of Season Three and the Season Four wrap-up (from 2003-4). It is a three disc set as it only has eight episodes."
"... how the 32 episodes of Unit One have been packaged. The Series 1 DVD set contains episodes #1-12. The Season 2 DVD set contains episodes #13-24. The Season 3 DVD set contains episodes 25-32 (just 8 episodes). That's the entire 32 episode opus. The "seasons", as documented on IMDB and elsewhere, have Season 1 as ep1-9, Season 2 as ep10-16, Season 3 as ep17-30 and Season 4 as ep31-32... the episode count per season varied as 9,8,13 and 2."

Danish WP article
[edit]The Danish WP article da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rejseholdet contains some additional interesting factoids. Here are some auto-translations into English.
- The task force, with the English title Unit One, is an Emmy-winning Danish drama series that was first shown on BBC1 in 2000 - 2004 [1] .
- The series is a depiction of the real flying squad and is loosely built on real criminal cases.
- The series is special in being the only Danish TV series, which geographically going on all over Denmark , since most sections takes place in different Danish provincial towns. [2]
- The task force was filmed in TV Dramas film studio in TV-Byen in Soborg , as well as many local sites throughout Denmark. There is also filmed in Sweden , Germany and Iceland .
- Great Belt Bridge , which was completed a few years before, is central in both the opening sequence, and is filmed in several other sections when Rejseholdet traveling back and forth across the Great Belt .
- In 2002, made a parody of the series for satire program The Stale News with Mikael Bertelsen , which aired on DR2 . The section, which lasts about nine minutes following series structure with the same intro, music, camera style, and Mads Mikkelsen and Lars Brygmann respectively Allan Fischer and Thomas La Cour.
- Why closed down?
- Episode 29-30 mentioned second to last in the plot section, including the decommissioning of Unit One. There are no explanations for why, and the Wikipedia article on the National Police departments have deleted reference to Unit One, even though we know "disambiguation" concerning. The task force refers to Wikipedia: Rigpolitiet. I do not dare do anything about, because I know too little. - Donald j axel ( discussion ) June 10, 2013, 00:15 (IST)
- I'm not exactly on what it is you are missing on the decommissioning of Unit One in the series. If you think it should be in the text exactly why it disbanded feel free to add it. For lack of reference from the article on the National Police , then it's not an article about the National Police's Flying Squad, and a wiki link from there is not imperative. Man Kn easily introduce it if you think it's important. Regards. Toxophilus ( discussion ) August 15, 2014, 13:01 (IST)
- Its plots were based on real-life crimes in Denmark at the time, and the show got a relentless grilling from the country's tabloids for its supposed lack of sensitivity towards the victims.

It would be good if this English WP article could have a link to an auto-translated version of the Danish WP article.
It seems like the show was quite successful, until it ended. Please add any information about the factors of the show ending.
Please add information about the real world of the politics of the National Police in Denmark, similar to or different from depicted in the show. Was there ever a mobile unit like this? When and how did it start? Did it come to an end, as depicted in the show? The inter-departmental struggles and some aspects of police and organizational corruption depicted in the show, what relationship to reality? -71.174.183.90 (talk) 20:17, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
