Realm's Commissionerate of Norway?
[edit]Isn't the translation of Reichskommissariat Norwegen into English as Realm's Commissionerate of Norway?
ArmchairVexillologistDonLives! (talk) 03:29, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that this translation is necessary. There is no reason why the sentence: literally "Realm Commissariat of Norway", is needed. Reich can be translated as Empire as well as Realm, but it just doesn't need to be translated. People know what it is. 'Third Reich' for example, is widely understood to mean Nazi Germany in WW2. - Note, that I only did the revert to "revision 492470831" restoring the translation because the prose leading up to the translated material had not been altered and the text made little sense. I have no strong feelings either way as to necessity of the translation but I do think the text should make some sort on sense. --Thefrood (talk) 15:02, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- No it isn't. There probably doesn't need to be a translation, but if there were "Reichs Kommisariat of Norway" would be it. Reich is not normally translated nor is kommissar or its derivates in English. There is a german version of this article but I had no luck with the new wikidata version of the interwiki links. If you were to persist, "Imperial Commissioner, Norway" would be a likely Anglicisation. Lycurgus (talk) 07:37, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

No reliable evidence it existed??
[edit]It was the Vidkun Quisling government, a country, not a Reichskommissariat, and I could not find reliable evidence it ever existed. This article only cites 2 sources, none of them mentioning Reichskommissariat Norwegen. Wikipedia:Proposed deletion UnsungHistory (talk) 00:38, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oh I found reliable evidence it existed https://www.regjeringen.no/en/the-government/previous-governments/regjeringer-siden-1814/historiske-regjeringer/norways-governments-1940-1945/illegal-ministers-in-oslo-1940-1942/id2602595/ but it was replaced by a national governement on february 1 1942 before germany capitulated,so this article is containing factual innacuracies UnsungHistory (talk) 19:14, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
