Edit outline of the enhancement of the translation from Hebrew
[edit]This article was translated imperfectly from Hebrew by User:Bellezzasolo, and I just improved it, by:
- General copy-editing. That's always important.
- Changing template:Hebrew and template:lang-he-n, which display the bad-looking David font by default (at least on my machine), to template:lang-he that displays the same font the rest of Wikipedia does (I think).
- Improving sentence structure. @Bellezzasolo did some of it, but in some cases more was needed.
- Fixing misspelling. The names of three football players were misspelled, because figuring out what the English spelling of a name is while only knowing the Hebrew one is all but impossible. The trick I used: look them up on Hebrew Wikipedia, then look at the English versions of the articles. I got some wikilinks from it, too!
- Adding the youth stuff to the infobox.
- Adding some minor details that weren't mentioned.
- Separating two unrelated sentences in the coaching section that @Bellezzasolo merged.
- Correcting the translated titles of two references.
- Last but not least, reading the citations and realizing most of them didn't confirm the claims that were next to them. To be fair, the Hebrew article didn't have any citations at all, and I don't think I can find any, either (at least not online ones).
Here you go, an actual edit summary. What's next? Well, the article is still more or less fully unsourced. Here's what the existing sources say about Rosenbaum:
- Source 1 (at Haaretz) says he was a Hapoel Tel Aviv player and has retired from playing sometime before 1998.
- Source 2 (at 11v11) is a bunch of statistics, almost all of which aren't mentioned in the article.
- Source 3 (at Maariv) is extensive but almost wholly irrelevant to the article's current content.
- source 4 (at One) says Rosenbaum has won with Hapoel Tel Aviv both as a player and as a coach, and at the time was the only one to have ever done so.
Source 1 is obsolete and—the way things currently are—source 3 can only be used as an external link, but I'd like to discuss it with @Bellezzasolo before doing anything. Aside from that, I suppose I could translate parts of source 3 and add some stuff from there to the article, but I'm lazy, so I probably won't do that. Professor Proof (talk) 11:56, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Professor Proof: I know my Hebrew isn't up to par, so basically make any changes that you see fit. ∰Bellezzasolo✡ Discuss 13:12, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Bellezzasolo: Will do. Professor Proof (talk) 15:01, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
