Years in the Senate

[edit]

I think the years Groff was in the Senate are wrong. Starting with a 2 year term in a special election, it would be elections of 1974, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992 but that implies retiring two years early in 1994. Compare to THIS more or less official bio read into the Congressional Record which states "1974-1988" — that is, elections of 1974, 1976, 1980, 1984, full terms. More investigation needed. It turns out the 1994 exit date is correct, per a story on his resignation as president of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators in the May 9, 1994 issue of Jet magazine. Carrite (talk) 21:50, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
