Perhaps someone can add a section on mimicry. -- Astrochemist 14:00, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a Punnett square until someone can locate and post a picture of Punnett himself. -- Astrochemist 03:13, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Punnett picture

[edit]

I've searched off and on for about a year for a public-domain Punnett picture for this Wikipedia article. A Punnett square would be better than nothing, and certainly more attractive than the non-encyclopedic shadow images that are sometimes left are in Wikipedia infoboxes. Can a fair-use Punnett photograph be located? Advice and/or help will be appreciated. -- Astrochemist (talk) 14:08, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From Dihybrid cross

[edit]

I removed the following text from Dihybrid cross. --Ettrig (talk) 15:53, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inventor of the Punnett Square:Reginald Punnett

Reginald Punnett was born in England. As a young boy, Punnett suffered from appendicitis. During one of his recuperative periods, he started reading a series of books - Naturalist's Library. His father had bought the books because of the elegant binding; Punnett was fascinated by the subject. Although he went to Cambridge University as a medical student, Punnett graduated with a zoology degree in 1898. After graduation, Punnett continued at Cambridge as a researcher. He did work on the morphology of nemertine (ribbon) worms. Punnett has two species of marine worms named after him, Cerbratulus punnetti, Punnettia splendia.

I deleted a few paragraphs from the above in the interests of easy reading and saving space on this page. The above material, moved here from the dihybrid cross article, apparently was taken originally from this web page, which is the first "External link" in Punnett's Wikipedia article. That page, in turn, is part of this site, which contains a copyright notice from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Thanks for your interest. - Astrochemist (talk) 16:56, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
