Birth date and death date

We have a reliable source (BBC) which states Mengi died age 75, a source published the day of his death, here in the year 2019. To be 75 means he must have been born in 1943 or 1944. As such, I've undone the edits which change his birth date to 1942, as (as far as I can tell) there's no source in the article pointing to 1942 as his birth date. I've also undone the change of his age at death to 77, as that's in direct contravention of the sources. If you wish to change his birth date, I have no problem if you have multiple reliable sources as good as or more reliable than the BBC which note his birth and death dates/age. Otherwise, please respect the sourcing, and remember that we are supposed to summarise what reliable sources have written about a subject, so if there isn't a reliable source stating what you add, it shouldn't be in the article. stwalkerster (talk) 16:18, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
