The assertion that the song relates to the Red River of the South disagrees with the Wikipedia article regarding the song. It is generally accepted that the song's lyrics are of Canadian origin and that they do relate to the Red River of the North.GothmogLOB (talk) 21:12, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

This article is peppered with "citation needed" tags and a lack of references. I will attempt to address these as soon as possible. Otr500 (talk) 11:37, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As a note, in case someone should read, a reference tag at the top of an article, or an appropriate section reference tag would suffice in lieu of a tag at the top and a bunch of "citation needed" tags adorning the article. An example would be the three paragraph U.S. geographical importance section with 4 "citation needed" tags. One tag follows "... these lands had previously been under the control of Great Britain.", that is preceded by an inline link to the Treaty of 1818 which does provide reference to the content.
  • The point is that citations are necessary and important. An article tagged then redundantly blanket tagged actually serves no purpose. The information is accurate but I suppose I could put 10 or 15 references in the section which will then be over-kill the other direction. I see there are editors that like to place reference and citation needed tags but apparently not as many that actually go a step farther and provide some.
  • A single section tag provides a better choice. Otr500 (talk) 11:53, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I provided references even for the tagged inline links that was somewhat baffling. I couldn't find the exact reference I was looking for concerning one edit so I blanked it for now. Otr500 (talk) 18:59, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Drainage basin map

[edit]

What's with the area entirely surrounded by the drainage basin that isn't part of it? There aren't any endorheics there, and it can't magically drain somewhere else.—blindlynx 17:50, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is that the map you're talking about? That looks like Devils Lake (North Dakota). Masterhatch (talk) 18:16, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, ahh cool—blindlynx 19:11, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
