Summit elevation

Colorado DOT lists the summit elevation as 9993'. However, based on the USGS topo map, I believe this is incorrect. The topo shows a benchmark at the summit with elev. 10,051'. On the main page, I have cited another source that agrees with this higher figure. CDOT's error can possibly be traced back to the elevation of the original Red Hill Pass (just to the north of the current pass), which shows an elevation of 9986' on the topo. When the highway was rerouted to use the next gap to the south, it's possible that CDOT never updated their elevation data. Niobrara (talk) 17:54, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
