Unsourced claims

[edit]

According to a Google Books search, some of the claims in this article are disputed. For example, the biggest claim made here, that the Rectaflex was the first pentaprism SLR, is contradicted by a number of sources, including this article from Popular Photography, which identifies the Contax S as the first. I did find and cite a source that identifies it, with the Contax S, as the first two pentaprism SLRs. The bit about how it was technically first because of an early prototype may be original research, but it's difficult to tell, because the article lacks inline citations. Clearly the author of the Pop Photo article didn't know about the Rectaflex. I didn't either until recently. That doesn't make it contradictory. The dates speak for themselves. I've reverted the "contradition"; you might find an argument for insufficient references, though the BJ reference seems convincing enough for me. Groogle (talk) 03:39, 6 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
