Was the Arlington Confederate Memorial ever called a "Reconciliation Monument"?

It was recently announced that this memorial is going to be removed from Arlington, and several detractors of this move have stated its status as a "Reconciliation Monument" instead of a standard memorial is a reason it should be kept. Within several hours of this news the Confederate Memorial was added to this list of other known "Reconciliation Monuments'

Is there any historical basis to justify its addition to this list, or is this revision based more on current attitudes? Moore4Nate (talk) 18:18, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Came here for the same question. It's hard to prove a negative, but Newspapers.com has about 100 references to the phrase "Reconciliation Monument", from 1864 to 2022; none are associated with the Arlington memorial.--NapoliRoma (talk) 20:31, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
