Name

Should this be moved to Real Audiencia of Mexico (or perhaps Real Audiencia de México)? I think "Real Audiencia" is usually used in English rather than "Royal Audience", though I don't know about the "of Mexico" part. --Ptcamn (talk) 04:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the generic article on these is at Audiencia, and we have Real Audiencia of Guadalajara, so I'd say these two should be made to match, somehow or another... I'd suggest going with the Real Audiencia of (English language name) version. I decided to be bold, and went ahead and moved the page. -- χγʒ͡ʒγʋᾳ (talk) 22:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I searched English-language articles on JSTOR for "royal audiencia" (559 hits) and "real audiencia" (1013 hits) (some, but not very many, were from titles or quotes within Spanish-language citations), with recent articles for both. I know nothing about this subject or the Spanish language, but on its face this seems like a virtual tie among scholars as to which translation they use. So it seems for now that status quo here and editor's choice in wikilinks is appropriate. SamuelRiv (talk) 17:11, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
