I'll take this one. Expect my initial comments to be up within a week. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:34, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Starting with the infobox and lead.
Infobox
[edit]- No licensing concerns with File:Raymix on Dulce Osuna.jpg. I only would change its caption to something like "Raymix during a 2018 interview".
- Done
- Does this guy not have any official sites/accounts aside from Facebook? From what I've seen, social media doesn't tend to be included in a "website" parameter.
- He has no official website. I can, however, replace the Facebook link with Youtube, as he links all his social media accounts from there. (CC) Tbhotch™ 18:50, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- No objections to using YouTube. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:55, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- "a trance project called Light & Wave with two other Mexican musicians"..... let's include their names
- Their names are never mentioned. I found them at Discogs and at a website that seems to be doing illegal stuff. At most, I can include the Discogs link in the External links section. (CC) Tbhotch™ 18:53, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- In that case, it's best to leave them out unless you can find a source that isn't full of user-generated content. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:55, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Don't italicize Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas
- Done
More to come later. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 01:45, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Early life and career
[edit]- Remove the italics for grupero
- "the Armin van Buuren radio show" → "Armin van Buuren's radio show"
- Perhaps "achievements" or "accomplishments" would be better than "formation" when talking about how academics couldn't get him a job
- all done TB 04:18, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
I'll get to the "2015–2019: Breakthrough and Oye Mujer" subsection next. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 03:50, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
2015–2019: Breakthrough and Oye Mujer
[edit]- File:Oye Mujer - Raymix.ogg appears to comply with WP:SAMPLE
- sonidero shouldn't be italicized
- Done. Tb.
- Fixed. Tb.
- I'm guessing you meant to place the Regional Mexican Airplay source right after "In the United States, 'Oye Mujer' topped the Billboard Tropical Airplay and the Regional Mexican Airplay charts" instead of "It also charted at 7 on the Hot Latin Songs" (which is already backed up by the correct URL)
- Fixed. Tb.
- It feels repetitive to say "topped the Top 20 chart". Try something like "reached number one on" or "peaked atop" in place of that.
- Fixed. Tb.
- "'Dónde Estarás' was released as single" seems like an incomplete sentence. When was this distributed? In any case, you're missing an "a" between "as" and "single".
- Fixed. Tb.
- Is it known when "Perdóname", "Ángel Malvado", and "Primer Beso" had their single releases?
- No, they don't even have an iTunes/Spotify page. TB.
- Having super short paragraphs makes the text flow look choppy. I'd merge the third and fourth paragraphs when those are very brief on their own.
- merged. TB.
- Contrary to what the article asserts, "Oye Mujer" was Mexico's 17th most played song of 2018 while Dónde Estarás was the 46th.
- That's a weird link because it is not a static one as it includes post-2018 songs. I replaced it with the first archived copy. (CC) Tbhotch™ 02:36, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Here's more to do before "2019–present: Fake Lover and non-album singles" is assessed. By the way, I forgot to mention earlier that I couldn't find any date of birth from Vice, but did come across one within Insomniac (which also gives his real name and where he was born). SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 04:39, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Fixed. Tb
2019–present: Fake Lover and non-album singles
[edit]- Did Fake Lover produce any singles?
- When was the single release for "Tú Eres la Razón (Electrocumbia Remake)"?
- It turns out that "Tú y Yo" actually reached number one on the Mexico Airplay chart, not just number four
Music style and stage name
[edit]- When "El Rey de la Electrocumbia" is in Spanish, I'm guessing you meant to write "Spanish" instead of "English" within "English for 'The King of Electrocumbia'". Either that, or it should be "'The King of Electrocumbia' in English".
Additional comments will follow in the future. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 03:15, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
- All done. (CC) Tbhotch™ 19:40, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
Personal life
[edit]- "was not into something serious"..... I would instead go with "did not want something serious" or "was not interested in a serious relationship".
- done. TB.
Discography
[edit]Studio albums
[edit]- Until this guy has an album that charts within Mexico, I'd remove the field even when it's his native country.
- Hidden. TB
Extended plays
[edit]- Did this not chart anywhere at all?
- No available information about him outside the Americas. Nothing at Billboard. If Oye Mujer or Fake Lover charted at the Mexican chart is lost now because AMPROFON never archives their lists. TB
Singles
[edit]- It seems pointless to include the Billboard Hot 100 when none of his songs (so far) have appeared on that and the subject doesn't have American citizenship. If any future material does enter it, then no prejudice against bringing the chart back. For now, you'd be better off replacing that column with Bubbling Under Hot 100 in this case when he actually has a chart entry on that.
- Replaced.
- I don't see a #21 peak for "Perdóname" on the Mexico Airplay chart, only for the Mexico Popular Airplay one. They're not the same thing though it's an understandable mixup.
- Fixed.
- You forgot to add the #9 peak for "Llámame" on Regional Mexican Airplay chart
Almost done! My next batch of comments will most likely be the last. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 16:43, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Awards
[edit]- Having super short paragraphs with only a sentence or two is discouraged when that makes the flow of text seem choppy. You may as well merge all of this section's content into one larger paragraph.
- Fixed. TB.
- I'd mention how "Oye Mujer" won Favorite Regional Mexican Song
- Forgot that. TB.
References
[edit]- Not sure whether "Remezcla" should have italics
- MOS:ITALICSWEB. Tb.
- For iTunes references, just say "iTunes Store" or simply "iTunes"
- Another reviewer time ago said that it should be "The iTunes Store" (don't remember when or where). TB.
Overall
[edit]- Prose: The tiny paragraphs disrupt text flow
- Referencing: Some citations need adjusting, and "Tú Eres la Razón" reached number#19 on the Mexican audience chart, not number#12 as you've listed SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 01:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- No, 12: "Desde 19/03 Max 12 Sem 3 Audiencia 20.32M". I merely used that source as it includes the peak for both charts. TB
- Coverage: The "Awards" section is missing one of Raymix's wins
- Neutrality: Looks good
- Stability: Nothing of concern
- Media: All media is appropriately licensed
- Verdict: Putting the nomination on hold for seven days, which should be enough time to resolve my remaining comments. It's very close to being GA-worthy. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 01:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- @SNUGGUMS: All done, I assume. (CC) Tbhotch™ 02:45, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- My bad on missing the "Max 12", and I can now safely pass the nomination. Congrats! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 02:50, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
