Proposed File Addition (Request comment?)
[edit]A photo of Ray Burggraf's Inferno has recently been uploaded to wikimedia commons. It's a rare Op Art piece (in color!) from the 1970's, and it could be a useful addition to this article. (Note: ShareAlike 3.0 Licensing permission from the artist is sitting somewhere in the vast permissions-en backlog). Does anyone have thoughts about how this file might best be used?Global Microscope (talk) 19:03, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Another "connected contributor" text box?
[edit]Whoa there... Is a second "connected contributor" text box necessary--on the front page? I got a cold shiver when I saw the new warning, so I went back to review the few edits I've made since this article was accepted by Ochiwar, only 2 months ago. I may have forgotten to check the "minor edit" box once or twice, so I can understand the confustion...but all of my edits since March 2013 have been within the scope of basic clean-up: grammar, citations, categories, etc. If I have added anything questionable, please, please discuss it here and/or delete it straightaway.Global Microscope (talk) 04:27, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- There are a few indications of COI, such as spelling out the location of his studio and "have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout North America, Europe and Asia." But that probably is not enough to warrant a COI tag. Something needs to be done about the sections starting at "Public Collections" and going down to "Papers and Presentation." We probably don't need to list every exhibit, rather than summarize the theme and use examples. CorporateM (Talk) 22:50, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, CorporateM's input makes a lot of sense to me. Having searched artists at random, I came up with the page of Jun Kaneko. Paragraphs 2 and 3 address the same kind of information that seems to be causing concern in the Ray Burggraf article. Do you prefer the wording of the Kaneko page? (Before I submitted this article for independent review, I compared it with that of Dale Chihuly, and concluded--for better or worse--that they sounded similar, if not ideal.)Global Microscope (talk) 17:41, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Similar featured articles would be the best possible examples to draw from. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience on BLP or artists articles to provide any better feedback. The best thing to do would be to go directly to the editor that added the COI tag. CorporateM (Talk) 19:37, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks so much! I shall give it a try.Global Microscope (talk) 19:57, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
