Raven does NOT own That's So Productions, but it states it various time sthroughout the article. That's So Productions is owned by It's A Laugh Productions. Please correct this.
Clean Up
I cleaned up quite a bit of this article tonight. Which no doubt will be reverted back to the version that was riddled with POV, original research, leading content, and other clear violations of wikipedia standards. I removed stuff like "the brown eyed beauty," "great reviews," etc. and other opinion laced content. I also re-added the trivia piece about her gaffs on "The Weakest Link" and provided a source. We'll see exactly how neutral this article can be if that piece is removed. Batman2005 05:33, 26 February 2006 (UTC) Iam pregnant and is married to a doctor.
- This article was very poorly done. As mentioned earlier, it sounds more like a fan page than an encyclopedia entry. FamousBobby 05:04, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Absolutely, I read it and it sounded like the original poster was her biggest fan, it nearly made me throw up. So, it was pretty tough for me to put aside my great disdain for "Raven" and edit the article. Batman2005 18:46, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
I changed the sales of "This Is My Time" because it was certified Gold for sales of 398,000.

I would like the source for Raven's album sales for "This Is My Time" because the album had only sold 200,000 copies as of February 2005. The album has not yet been certifed Gold by the RIAA.
- I don't think there should be a - in between the first name and the last name. Should it be there? --Domthedude001 18:43, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, because Raven-Symoné is a double-barrelled first name, just like Mary-Kate and Malcolm-Jamal.Rhythmnation2004 02:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

I added the part about Raven stating that she had a crush on Ricky Ullman. Khang 18:25, 20 March 3 2006
Dear Khang, I don't think Raven was serious when she said she had a crush on him cause rumor has it most of that Disney New Years Eve special was scripted
How do you know?
Hi, She didn't have a crush on him. get all the gossip magazines and found nothing about those two.plus, not all gossip is true.
When and where did she say that she had a crush on Ricky Ullmann?Plus I dont think she does because shes like 21 years old.--Cutie 4 life 23:31, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
First of all he's 21 too and those words came strait out of her mouth even if it was scripted!
If you go to the Acting Career section, and scroll down to Other, you'll see " early July", "late June", and "July 8". What year is this? 2000? 2003? 2007? Please clear this up.--Leamarie411x2 23:36, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Quick Facts Removal
After much thought, I decided that the Quick Facts section of this article is fancruft and removed it. Additionally, items like "favorite color" and the like are unsourced/unverifiable. Then there were items like "raven loves to sing and act," I wonder how anyone got this idea...since she's a singer and an actor. Many other pages have started to have useless trivia removed as its non-encyclopedic and important to only a few diehard fans. See WP:CRUFT for more information. Batman2005 21:15, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Re-addition of information needed
I removed a great deal of information from this article, as it was mostly a copyright violation, and the parts that weren't copyvios were hagiography. Anyone who knows anything about Raven should re-add the content in their own words and in a neutral point-of-view, remembering to cite sources. – Quadell (talk) (bounties) 21:43, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Raven's single "Some Call It Magic", a song telling her story as Raven Baxter on her show "That's So Raven" showcases the young tycoon's strong vocals. (IS this up to par with you almighy standards.) --Gerald(Multi-octave man) 00:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Gerald(Multi-octave man)
I think that "thats so Raven," is a bery good show for young people to watch because it makes you laugh and it can teach you about some problems that may occur in your life. even if it is just a little problem with your friend, every little thing counts and that is exactly what Raven teaches these children today. Raven, also shows children not what to do. What I am tring to say is that she teaches chilren not to lie to their parents, and her mischevious little brother teaches chilren not to steal and thingso of that nature.
-Obviously the show does not teach spelling or grammar. PabloMartinez 12:51, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

I want to mention the fact that when Raven was younger she was roommates with Lindsay Lohan but it keeps getting deleted. It's not a useless piece of information, some people may find it interesting.
Why is Raven-Symone under S in all her categories. This is her first name, no (like Mark-Paul Gooselaar)? If anything, it should be R or P (for Pearman). Just my two cents. Antares33712 13:36, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- In everything she's appeared in, she's credited as Raven-Simone or Raven. It would be like categorizing Angelina Jolie under V since her birthname is Angelina Jolie Voight.

Whistle Register
If you listen to the song "Bump" Raven Symone displays her abilities in that song so, she should be added to the whistle register list.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> You're Mistaken. Raven did NOT sing in the whistle register range in Bump. Close to the end, that's not even her singing. The part after the bridge, she does not sing in that range. Just like in her show, when ever a "cute boy" walks by or something good happens, its as if she's using a high note when she "yells". It's close, But so far, I haven't heard any songs with that ability.

Album cover of Fly Like a Raven
There in an image alledgedly of the upcoming album Fly Like a Raven (Image:Raven - Fly Like A Raven.JPG) that keeps getting put back in the infobox, despite the conflict with WP:FUC. If there is a reason and explanation for putting a non-free image here that I am not aware of, please explain it here. As far as the image itself of the not-yet-released album, it seems a bit unsourced [3], which has led to speculation in at least one edit summary that it is actually fan art. If this is the case, then its licensing info must be chaged. If it is, in fact, the actual album cover, I beleive the 1000x1000 resolution of the image violates WP:FUC in itself. -Seidenstud 20:13, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Image/revert
I added a neutral image of Raven-Symoné to the page. I am really sick of seeing the fan-made cover of the rumored album placed on the top of the page. Someone needs to get that user under control; he has reverted this page way too many times, as well as the page for Fly like a Raven. This is getting ridiculous. ALBUM SALES
Stop falsifying her album sales! "This Is My Time" hasent been certified Gold yet! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.94.46.100 (talk) 00:19, 21 December 2006 (UTC).
The sales figures for all 3 albums are now official: 73,000 for Here's To New Dreams, 10,000 for Undeniable (2,000) plus its re-release, From Then Until (8,000), and 235,000 for This Is My Time. The figures come straight from the database of SoundScan, thanks to Keith Caulfield of Billboard. A debt of gratitude should be owed to whomever was bold enough to ask Keith directly (I may be wrong, but I'm assuming it was LAUGH90 who went to the very top to get this information); and another should be owed to Keith for responding, and thereby laying completely to waste the illusion that her 3rd album was gold. Let's just hope Raven has better luck with her 4th album. --CookyMonzta 06:37, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I didnt ask Billboard about it, but when I found this out, I put it on the here as proof. I'm actually suprised at her album sales because I thought she had sold a little worsethan I thought. Hopefully, these pages wont be a mess like they were before, and hopefully she'll be like Janet Jackson. After two flop albums, Janet reemerged with Control, which became hugely successful and started a successful career. Janet was only 20 at the time and Raven is now 21. Maybe that will happen for Raven.LAUGH90 22:00, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed. I was absolutely shocked by that 2,000 figure for her 2nd album Undeniable. I still wonder how many she actually sold worldwide for all 3 albums.
With a little luck, maybe she'll get top-of-the-line producers for her 4th album, whether it is called Fly Like A Raven or something else. Rumor has it that she's leaving Disney/Hollywood Records (I hope so). I like the idea and the possibility that Janet's rough start, before Control and Rhythm Nation 1814, could be the road Raven may be headed. But she needs to do something a little different, so that she does not come off as Janet's clone 20 years later. And again, she needs to get rid of those "Disneyfied" producers who worked on her last album, because her 4th album could be her very last chance at a major record company, even if she is the "$400 million woman" (read Ebony for March 2007; sales of items attributed to her have grossed that amount). --CookyMonzta 06:20, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Major cleanup
I've removed TONS of filmography-related information from the "acting career" section, since the article already has an entire list of every film and TV series she has appeared in. I've removed tons of irrelevant sentences and other false information. I've left the album sales bits alone because I'm not really sure whether or not these numbers are correct, although I suspect that they aren't.
I also reorganized the filmography, because they were listed in order based on the final year of each series instead of the first year. For example, "The Cosby Show" was placed under 1992 instead of 1989, making it appear to be her third TV appearance, when it was actually her first. Hopefully with the semi-protection, we can now keep this page under control and make it look like a real encyclopedia article, rather than a page of fan praise.

Raven-Symone' currently resides in L.A. I have read on the internet that she owns homes in Georgia and California. Because she travels there frequently. Her parents live in Atlanta with her brother Blaze. Although, for some odd reason I put this in the article and someone just keeps deleting it!? - Wikipedia requires reliable sources for information added to articles. "I read it on the internet" is not a reliable source, as there is plenty of garbage on the internet (If you would like, I can provide links to sites that state that George W. Bush is actually a lizardman, astronauts have never landed on the Moon, eating anything other than fruit will kill you, etc.). If you have a source that meets Wikipedia's guidelines for sources, feel free to add it. I think it's rather bizarre that Raven has seemed to garner such absurd amounts of attention from vandals. It seems to have kicked up again within the last couple of days. The unfortunate side effect is that this weight-related vandalism seems to have made the subject of weight taboo for serious-minded editors. Chalkieperfect (talk) 05:40, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Undeniable-Raven.JPG
Image:Undeniable-Raven.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:03, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Professionality of Raven-Symone article
For those complaining that the Raven Symone article sounds more like a fan page and less like an encyclopedia entry, I have to say I disagree. A reason I can think of for people to feel this way is probably because of Raven's style of acting and reputation. Since the majority of her filmography is made up of programs made for children, while reading this you dont feel really serious. In my opinion this article is just like any other celebrities. It contains info of her early and recent career, including acting, music, and even perosnal life; then goes on to describe her filmograhy and discography. Whats the difference? I really do not see one. So the only thing I can think of is her reputation and that shes more of a child/teen actress. An example is that even if it has the same format of information, one would just feel different when reading an article on the creation and origins of the TV show Barney or Sesame Street than he would when reading about the Civil War or the civil rights movement. Raven symone is Christiana Therese morris's best friend & she wants her to be on her show. Raven Symone is a great actor but knows Christiana quite well
- Wow. Those last two sentences are exactly what's wrong with the tone in the article. Thank you for giving a perfect example. I disagree with you on your point that just because Raven's career and life haven't been as serious as the Civil War was doesn't mean the tone of the article should be any less serious. The tone of EVERY Wiki article should be as serious and professional as possible. That means no personal opinions ("She totally would have gotten that part because she's AWESOME!!!!11!!!1"), no first-person writing, and only the best grammar, spelling, and sentence/paragraph structure possible. The subject doesn't matter; it should always be written professionally. If that isn't possible then obviously the subject is not worthy enough of having his/her/its own article on Wikipedia. --ScreaminEagle 22:03, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Looks pretty ok to me right now. Just some crap on the bottom of this discussion page right now. Do you want to consider removing the tag? Ub 04:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Has anyone seen that episode? Do you know what was her situation? Can anyone add it here? Dylan Damien 16:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
I have seen this episode. If I remember correctly they punk'd her by moving her car from a parking bay, painted it to look like a disabled persons spot and then when she came back she was being shouted at by a man as there was a load of senior citizens who needed the spot. This is the first time I've answered a question. I don't know if what I'm doing is correct.
Lack of Weight Information
Why is there no mention of her extreme weight gain?
Seriously, if you watch the episodes of her show in order you can truly see her getting fatter.
You can't say she hasn't gained serious weight and yet there is no mention of it in her article. AD Double J 23:09, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- While I cannot say she hasn't, you cannot say that she has. That would be Original Research. Find a reliable source that discusses it, and citing that source, add mention of it to the article. Please be aware that as a biography of a living person, this article has higher standards of verifiability than normal articles. -Seidenstud 02:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- My God, people please. This happens with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson's pages as well. Something like small weight gain is not needed to put on someone's page, and if you think it is, you have some serious mental issues.96.227.94.146 (talk) 21:55, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
The thing is, its not a little weight gain, she gained like 40 pounds in a week. If they don't talk about it then it is half assing just to protect womens image crap. Also it adds to Wikipedia's rep as a unpropper source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.183.60.33 (talk) 07:41, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
- You are such a hater. She does not gain "40 pounds a week". If you're going to talk trash about someone, don't bother being on Wikipedia anymore. I can report you, you know.96.227.94.146 (talk) 02:52, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Well if you do pay attention to her for ex. if you look at her size from the first Dr. Dolittle Movie she was much smaller compared to her size now in That's So Raven. It's a harsh reality that it has become ok to be out of shape or overweight. She really hasn't been criticized for her weight like other women i.e. Kristie Alley, Oprah Winfrey, or Elizabeth Taylor. The point is it's not exactly wikipedian to talk about it unless it becomes a consistently brought up issue in her life and to be put in a neutral point of view.
No one's talking about her weight anywhere, so it's not applicable. - J happy (talk) 01:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Acute Accent
"Despite the spelling of the second part of her given name, she pronounces "Symoné" as if the acute accent were not there." Inside the quotes, shouldn't it be Symone without the acute accent on the "e"? I am an intermediate speaker of French and I know that "é" is pronounced "ay", and my friend told me she says it like "sim-OWN". Should this be fixed? Mhavril39 22:45, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- No. That's why the name is in quotes, meaning it may not be pronounced as expected. The sentence later clarifies this saying that although the accent would suggest it is pronounced that way, she pretends it's not there when pronouncing it. The way it is written and phrased in that sentence is absolutely correct. --ScreaminEagle 02:18, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

What name to use in article
I have never seen her credited as Raven-Symoné Pearman, the article title is Raven-Symoné and that is how she is referred to professionally. As an analogy to another article, Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie is known professionally as Madonna and her article refers to her formally as Madonna, not Ritchie. Raven-Symoné is a one-name (albeit hyphenated) actress. She is never referred to professionally by her last name. The article should not either. She shouldn't be refered to as Raven either as that is not her name either. Suggest replacing all instances of "Raven" or "Pearman" with "Raven-Symoné" ---NrDg 20:51, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Born in Atlanta
Raven-Symoné was born in Atlanta. She said so in TV interviews, radio interviews, and it's in a number of biographies. She has even said so in her SayNow messages. Someone has edited her birthplace to Duluth, Georgia, a city near Atlanta. That is not Raven-Symoné's birthplace. So when whoever that's been changing it, change it, please source it with an official source, i.e. official sites, and not fan related sites where people submit info like TV.com.

"We have digged deep into Raven history she has 7 people in her life that got her where she is as of today: her grandad Joseph Pearman Jr. her greatgranddad: Joseph Pearman Sr. and her great uncle: Oscar Pearman and her cusin: Willie Pearman Sr. and Willie Pearman Jr."

First of all, is this true? Second, the grammar AND spelling is wrong. I am utmost displeased >:[ Help Please! -J happy (talk) 01:50, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's not clear to me what help you need. The information shouldn't have been there, you took it out, and no one is trying to return it. What's the problem?—Kww(talk) 17:40, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure if it is true, so I took it out. I wanted to know if it was really true in case I actually made a mistake. I would put it back up if it was true and it had a citation. -J happy (talk) 01:50, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Phenomenon?
Raven has been featured on Phenomenon, at least once, I'm sure. Why is there nothing about this here? -Crixyi (talk) 08:47, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Native American
Should the lead be changed to "Raven, is an American" to "Raven, is an African American Indian" or anything that tells viewers she is American Indian? AJona1992 (talk) 01:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Last name of Amber
The surname of Amber in Sonny with a Chance is disputed. An IMDb link has been provided showing "Amber Ericcs," however, IMDb is not a reliable source. I checked some other unreliable sources and many of them say "Amber Algoode" - here, here and here - "Algoode" is variously spelled as "Allgood," I don't know where that comes from. Sonny with a Chance (season 2) also lists her as "Algoode" and we should at least be internally consistent. Here's what I think it is. The Sonny with a Chance Wiki has a revision to the article here which says that the surname change was made on August 30, while the episode ran on August 29. I am thinking that "Ericcs" was a pre-show release that got changed in the final script. IMDb is often going to have the earlier info without a later followup to update it. With the dearth of actually reliable sources, I think we should go ahead and trust the preponderance of evidence and make it "Algoode." Elizium23 (talk) 06:29, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- IMDb is much more reliable than any of those sources you named. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (talk · contribs) 12:18, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Whether it is a WP:RS is hotly contested. Did you know that anyone can change it? That they start from user-contributed information? Please see prior discussion here and here and here. I would venture that IMDb is less reliable than the fan-maintained wikis, because it is harder to change errors on IMDb once they are in there. Elizium23 (talk) 20:45, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- I say since we don't know, simply putting Amber would be fine. All of the sources are not really THAT reliable, so I think that would be the best bet. And wtf, anyone can change IMDb? :S I'm confused. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (talk · contribs) 21:04, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

- I have watched the episode and it is indeed Amber Algoode. I've made the edit and cited the episode as a primary source. This should hopefully put the issue to rest. IMDb is just plain incorrect on this count. It is quite possible that "Ericcs" was in a pre-broadcast script, and changed at the last moment, possibly to accommodate the "all good" gag at the beginning. - Just goes to show how unreliable IMDb is - the credits pages have changed, and now show that her name was "Amber Algoode." Elizium23 (talk) 19:38, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
