Legality
[edit]Is it actually illegal anywhere to possess (i.e., in the same sense that child pornography is "illegal")? The page about Australia suggests that just means it can't be broadcast. Mdwh 21:39, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Nopes, in the Netherlands it is legal. Ofcourse only, if the actors consent in the act.
The article is not clear: is it depictions of actual rape that is illegal in most places, while depictions of staged rape (i.e. actually consensual sex) are legal, or are both types illegal in most places? This needs to be clarified. --HarmonicFeather 05:05, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. Since it's ambiguously worded, unsourced, and unlikely to be true anyway in my opinion, I'm removing it. I'm also removing the following sentence, as there's no evidence how widely available this is. Mdwh 14:50, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
You also forgot that there is no common definition of rape. Even the US has different definitions based on states leave alone the definitions in other Countries. Also I am not sure if the comment on Germany is true. The law states it is forbidden to disseminate, publicly display, present, or to otherwise making accessible materials which "have as their object acts of violence or sexual acts of persons with animals". Not every form of rape (based on definition) involves violence. Also BDSM pornography would also be forbidden but is AFAIK allowed. Also it has no word on possession of this material.--P91 (talk) 11:52, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Really a genre?
[edit]I know there is pornography that depicts rape, but is there really a genre of "rape pornography"? Шизомби (talk) 23:22, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
It is a genre, unless you want to suggest that rape pornography is the normal, mainstream, or most common kind of porn.Napkin65 (talk) 00:47, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
I guess it's a "genre" in the same sense that scat porn is it's own genre, or latex porn. If someone has a sexuality or a fetish, there'd be porn to cater to it, legal or not, moral or not. It so happens that rape isn't an uncommon kink (though it'd come in various shapes and forms, a lot of it I would say delves into domination and submission fantasies). Though you can question the morality of depicting rape, for whatever purpose, as drama, a joke, or erotica, I can personally not say that two people acting out a pretend rape for the camera is something legally objectionable, as nobody is actually being the victim of rape.95.109.103.15 (talk) 13:32, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Internet section is about content depicting real acts
[edit]This is what it says in the referred article.
Some made clear that the clips were fictional, but other sites had the word “real” in their titles. At least a few touted videos that he feared might show actual crimes.

This article needs attention
[edit]@John B123: - Dear Senior Editor and administrators, I am writing here to express my concerns about this article. The page was vandalized last week. It also needs a better quality introduction and to be expanded. I believe Rape pornography needs attention from an expert because of the nature of the topic and current state of the article. - User:Wikipedianuhai 14:09, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- Vandalism happens. In this case, it was a hit-and-run by the same anonymous user twice within a couple of hours. That's unfortunate but normal for Wikipedia, and pretty rare for this article. As for the introduction, what do you suggest be included? It looks reasonable to me, but I'm far from an expert here. HalJor (talk) 18:46, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
"Hello. I think it can be more substantive. A model is the child pornography article. I am not an expert in the subject, as well, and would like to defer to someone more knowledgeable on this subgenre. I can, however, add some information from academic sources on Google Books and Google Scholar in the meantime. Also, I think we should include newspaper articles, like the ones released by BBC, about videos of filmed rape on Pornhub and any other pornographic video sharing and pornography websites. I am curious about :@Flyer22 Frozen:'s, a much more experienced editor than I on sex crimes articles, thoughts on how this page can be bettered.- User:Wikipedianuhai 22:34, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
- I made changes with this edit. My advice for now is to not give WP:Undue weight to real rape. Rape pornography is a controversial subgenre of pornography and the vast majority of it is fake rape. That is why my edit switched the lead to be about simulated rape first. Flyer22 Frozen (talk) 15:21, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Additional change here. Flyer22 Frozen (talk) 15:30, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the improvements, Flyer22 Frozen. - User:Wikipedianuhai 15:35, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
