Doesn't this article sound a bit "fannish"? Is it really necessary to list the other members of the cast of Emergency!, for example, twice and by their character names as well as their real names? Also, the article claims Mr. Mantooth is a "prolific" actor, yet only a very few roles are mentioned. His civic activities and honors appear (I have not done a word count or some such) to be mentioned in more detail than his acting achievements and credits. Don't get me wrong, I loved Emergency! growing up, and Mr. Mantooth did a fine job. I just think this page should reflect on him better than it currently does... is he not worthy of a serious, non-"fannish" approach? If I were qualified to do so, I would attempt to improve. In Need of Severe Cleanup

Hooo boy. I agree with the above comment, and even more. This article is a train wreck in so many ways that I can't even list them all. In addition to being overly adoring, it's sloppily written and unclear in many places. I've made a few grammar changes, including changing the assertion that he forged a "wonderful" relationship with Julie London and her husband to a "close relationship" in the interest of objectivity, but take a look at this para for examples:

Mantooth was prepared for the lead role in the play Philadelphia Here I Come, after performing in the popular production of How to Laugh on Stage. His performance as Gar had honored him with the Charles Jehlenger Award, an honor he shared with fellow actor Brad Davis. It was there he received a contract with Universal Studios in 1968, after giving the offer some serious consideration, he was willing to accept it, hence, he left New York to move back to California, where he guest-starred in a variety of shows.

First, the names of both plays should be linked. Second, the first two sentences are lifted verbatim from the actor's website. I'm rather curious about how many other lines we would find to have been swiped if we gave this a thorough reading and cleansing. The passage gives no indication of where these performances were (community theater? Broadway?) and are just grammatically wrong on a number of levels. Plus, the name of the award is misspelled.
