Not a Jat title
[edit]There is no source saying that it was a Jat title. may be any Jat started using it but we are to go according to sources. Rmkop (talk) 07:27, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- The problem here is that various communities have or even still can adopt the title. Sources that merely verify it was used by Rajputs do not exclude the possibility that other communities did or do still use it. We're facing a confirmation bias issue here and, I fear, drifting into the realms of WP:DICDEF. - Sitush (talk) 01:25, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Genus: Rana
[edit]I do not not know where to notify someone of this problem. If you look up a species of frog [eg bullfrog] it shows that they are of the genus rana. When you click on " genus: rana " as seen on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_bullfrog, it leads to this page. This makes no sense because this guy is one tiny person in history, whereas rana are a whole genus of animals. A child trying to learn about a genus clicks on the article in the bullfrog article, tries to learn about the genus and only gets here, with a tiny note about a "disambiguation"? How is a child supposed to know what a disambiguation is --my autistic nephew is trying to learn about animals and loves learning about the whole taxonomy [like any real autistic might] and is supposed to take a left turn at "disambiguation"?! when ON the page of bullfrog ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_bullfrog ) ? How many other articles have this unexpected turn for kids who really care about zoology? Feel free to send this to the wikipedia-frog editor!

- Thank you very much for your message Julia. I have corrected the link on the American bullfrog page so that it now goes to Rana (genus). By using the "what links here" link on the left side of the artcle, I will try to find any other pages which wrongly point here.
- P.S. There is no "frog editor" at Wikipedia per se, but there is a project that covers amphibians and reptiles. If you and your nephew are interested in the subject, hopefully you can help make the articles on the topics better. If you have any questions, you can message me by clicking on the "talk" next to my name. Thanks once again! AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:28, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- In case you (or anyone else) is interested, I identified about 10 frog articles that wrongly pointed here. There were also two articles for worms that infest the frogs' intestines, plus also two articles that were meant to point to Rana, Norway. Hopefully I got them all... - On this subject, (and this might sound strange) but I was watching Coronation Street, which has a character called Rana, and I thought "like the frog?" so was looking at a species of frog and then typed in rana (rather than clicking), and expected to see a disambiguation page featuring the genus, the name and any other usage I wasn't aware of. Should this page be moved to Rana (title) and the dab page moved to here? (In fact, from 2003 until 15 August 2014, this title was the disambiguation page and this article was at Rana (title). An editor (actually a sockpuppet account!) neglected to request page moves, so the page histories got mixed up - I have now repaired this.) AnemoneProjectors 11:29, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
