NPOV?

[edit]

"Towner is one of the most diversely talented musicians of the past half-century" - is this general consensus, or one fan's opinion? It sounds pretty NPOV to me, but I've never heard of the guy, and he lives in the same town of 7,000 that I do. The Human Spellchecker 02:55, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless it is a quote from a verifiable source it is probably original research or part of a paste job. Towner is definitely a class act. But I will try t to work on it if I can find some source material. If someone wants to beat me to it they should feel free to do so. : Albion moonlight (talk) 12:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original resarch is a no no.

Dubious Statements

[edit]

Notable recordings of third stream? Which albums? I can't think of any?

As a guitarist he does not eschew "amplification". He uses acoustic guitars but they are amplified when needed. He has also in recent years dallied with a Frame Guitar which is hybrid classical guitar (neck) with electric amplification.

I don't think his use of overdubbing is significant, as it has had a long historical precident.

He hasn't "deemphasized his synthesizer and piano playing in favor of guitar". As a solo perofrmer he has confined himself to the gutar. For a least the last two decades on recordings under his own name has stuck to the guitar. However as a member of Oregon, his keyboard playing, which includes synthesier as a prominent part of the group Oregon

Re Oregon, their free improvisations are more classical and ambient/atmospheric and are not particularly jazz-influenced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.27.207.97 (talk) 15:21, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
