Who was Leland S. Copeland?

I guess Leland S. Copeland was not a family member related to Ralph Copeland, although he (L. S. Copeland) was also related to astronomy. If someone of the English Wikipedia has plans to create a Leland S. Copeland article, I want to see it immediately! L. S. Copeland seems to have been an inventor of many nicknames of deep-sky objects and also of rather curious names for telescopically observed formations on the moon's surface.
