Another bad condition for the revolution was its location; the village of Rakovica and the area of Kordun was mostly populated by Orthodox Serbs of Croatia.[2] However, a large number of the local Orthodox population supported Kvaternik.

They weren`t Serbs they were Croats of Ortodox faith. Nationalities were made up in 19th century and Ortodox people in Croatia at that time did not even know what Serbia is. Ortodox intellectualls expressed Croatian nationality. One of the proclamations of the Rakovica revolt was "respect between Croats of 2 faiths".
