Rajarhat New Town → Rajarhat New Town (Vidhan Sabha constituency) – Move the page to Rajarhat New Town (Vidhan Sabha constituency) as per WP:NC and WP:CONSISTENT. Manasbose (talk) 16:21, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support As per WP:CONSISTENT. ~Amkgp (✉) 18:51, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- Tentative oppose This appears to be unnecessary disambiguation, unless there is some other topic with the name "Rajarhat New Town". I am also not convicned by the consistency argument, as a quick glance at Category:Assembly constituencies of West Bengal suggests that West Bengal constituencies do not necessarily have "(Vidhan Sabha constituency)" appended to the name where it is not necessary (over 40 constituency articles are not disambiguated). - Comment: The local people refer New Town, Kolkata as Rajarhat New Town. When you say Rajarhat New Town it generally refers to New Town, Kolkata and not to the Vidhan Sabha. Even the West Bengal Tourism ministry uses the name Rajarhat New Town for disambiguation. Hence move the page to Rajarhat New Town (Vidhan Sabha constituency) and convert the page Rajarhat New Town into a disambiguation page. Manasbose (talk) 07:28, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
The local people refer New Town, Kolkata as Rajarhat New Town...
That can/should be handled by a hat-note, not article renaming or creation of a disambiguation page. Abecedare (talk) 19:02, 13 May 2020 (UTC)- Yes, I think this is a WP:TWODABS case, which can be handled via a hatnote. Generally you only need DAB pages if the topics need to be at the same title. - Oppose Parenthetical disambiguation shouldn't be added when it isn't needed; ee WP:CONCISE. Also consistency doesn't require addition of '(Vidhan Sabha constituency)' to the article name since other articles in this category that don't need disambiguation, (correctly) leave that out, e.g., Asansol Dakshin, Asansol Uttar, Katulpur etc.
- Note: see also the move request at Talk:Dum Dum Uttar. Manasbose can you list the other similar move requests you might have created so that there can be a consolidated discussion? Abecedare (talk) 19:02, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
