deletion
[edit]RE: proposed deletion. A single reference on a nascent site doesn't make it advertising for that book. It is not my book. It is not the only source for the term. It the only published, internet citable source I could find at the moment. This is a common business term without background as to what it means. Wikipedia has a chance to fill that gap. --DeknMike (talk) 19:37, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
categories
[edit]Anyone know a good category to place this article in? Bearcat has suggested it needs some...--DeknMike (talk) 20:24, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- The only one, Category:Business terms, covers a zillion articles but its category talk page has been deleted twice.(?) I'll add to Category:Fundraising.
- Perhaps the assignment to {WP Business} as a new article will get attention by people better placed to delete or develop it. --P64 (talk) 15:11, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Value to customers
[edit]- "In general, rainmaking is a mindset of delivering value to your customer."
This was the middle sentence of the lead paragraph, a complete misfit. Although vague, this stub does make clear that "rainmaking" is (some kind of) creating new customers (or donors, I guess), not satisfying or otherwise maintaining old ones. It doesn't seem to be a "mindset" either. --P64 (talk) 14:40, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
