Removed the following since it has nothig to do with the Rainbow Series books (ublished by the US Goverment)
BTW, the Aho Dragon Books are fantastic, but they just do not belong here.
The term "Crayola books", named after the brand name of the most common crayon in the U.S., was popularized by the 1995 movie "Hackers" whose list included "The Dragon Book" (a still-used book on compilers) and "The Pink Shirt Book" (a well known guide to IBM PC's by Peter Norton). --JuanPDP 05:39, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
There are 2 'Aqua books' here. I believe NCSC-TG-004 is really 'Teal Green Book.'--Dchmelik (talk) 08:58, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
I am providing an updated link for the books of the Rainbow Series as the ones you have are mostly text files. The link I am providing has all of the documents and most of them are in PDF format which is better for readability. The link is [1] Sonar guy (talk) 16:36, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
All of the links to iaarchive.fi are broken. --Mespinola (talk) 08:44, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Sonar guy's link to theargon.com is no longer valid. The domain forwards currently through admarketplace.net to various destinations. Mespinola (talk) 14:49, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

The Rainbow Books of other government organizations
[edit]Can anyone shine light on the book series of other government organizations. Specifically I'm thinking of the medical field. There is a "Pink book" published by the CDC, which covers vaccine preventable diseases. There is also a "Red book" I think that it covers microbiology, but cannot remember if the CDC publishes it. There is an "Orange book" published by the FDA that lists approved medications as well as their approval dates (which is important for generics because approved brand name drugs get 5-years of market exclusivity even if their patent has expired). There is a purple book too, but don't recall what its content was. Anhyhow, I landed on this page trying to find an exhaustive list of such medical texts. I think it would be helpful, if someone can find an exhaustive list, to redirect to that source with either a reference or an external link. Tmbirkhead (talk) 02:18, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
