Oldest football player ever
[edit]Is Raimond van der Gouw the oldest football player ever?,and if he's not,how long must he continue playing football before he is?
- I don't know what the record is, but Stanley Matthews was still playing at 50. van der Gouw is a long way short of this. Rje 17:13, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
Caps
[edit]Has he made any appearances for Holland?--GingerM 14:40, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Pronounciation
[edit]That pronounciation can't be correct, can it? It is definately not the way any Dutch person would pronounce his name
- In England it was always pronounced 'van der how', which fits with other Dutch players such as Ed de Goey and Ulrich van Gobbel.--MartinUK (talk) 14:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
TV advert
[edit]A TV advert in the UK used around 2000 featured a muck-up of the Manchester United squad and as they run out from the changing rooms to the pitch there's a goalkeeper and on the back of his shirt it say "Van Der Graaf" - an obvious parody of Van Der Gouw. Can't remember which company the advert was for so not very helpful but if anyone does it could be added as a trivia point for this advert. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.128.237.24 (talk) 18:41, 7 April 2007 (UTC).
