[edit]Removed the following out-of-place comment about historical dispute: --Cedderstk 06:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- <RAI & LIMBU BELONGS TO KIRAT> Because, kirat has got their own history.
EG.- Once there was a great king in Nepal, he was from Kirat dynasty. His name was Yelamber hang. He was one of the most powerful king in ruler dynasty. His dynasty remained so long untill the last king Jite gasti. But, the kirati history hasn't got so much far proof of the ancient sculptures or the creative works that kirat dynasty has done. so, it prooves that kirati dynasty is so rare and old dynasty of Nepal. Kirati Ruled Nepal before Lichhavi dynasty, Rana dynasty, Shah dynasti. So, it is the one of the most rare dynsaty in history. <<<<87.113.81.148 00:04, 31 December 2006 (UTC)>>>> ...............
Proposed merge with Bantawa rai
[edit]Could see no signs of notability for a stand alone article. Lakun.patra (talk) 12:17, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
The contents of the Bantawa rai page were merged into Rai people. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |

Rai people → Khambu Rai – This article is about the specific Khambu Rai people. Most Rai people in general (such as Sunuwar Rai, Bantawa Rai, etc.) are not included. According to Gerd Hanßon "The Rai of Eastern Nepal, Ethnic and Linguistic Grouping", all Kiranti speaking peoples except for Limbuwans (maybe also Phangduwali, Belhare and Waling) are Rai. Please rename this article to make room for the general Rai people. 146.96.147.126 (talk) 01:54, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Comment so after the page is moved, then "Rai people" would become a set index page? -- 70.51.46.39 (talk) 05:14, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
- Once the article is removed, the article Rai people should be reconstructed to meet the scope of the correct definition. However, it shouldn't be a disambiguation page. --146.96.147.126 (talk) 20:23, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. It seems like it would be more productive to just expand this article to cover all Rai people.--Cúchullain t/c 15:25, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, scope is the (general) ethnic group.--Zoupan 18:37, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
