Merge/Redirect from Rafael Frübeck de Burgos
[edit]I skipped any discussion because it really didn't matter; the two articles were nearly identical with the exception of some of the info which I immediately merged into this article. I did a Googlefight to find out which had more references and the Frühbeck won by about 6 so while there's no true consensus it was the leader. Be bold, right? Vienna Phil
[edit]Deleted claim that F de B was musical director of the Vienna Philharmonic. That orchestra has had no musical director since 1933. I've never even heard his name associated with the Vienna Phil, although it is certainly possible that he has conducted them at one time or another.Grover cleveland 23:56, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Weird. I just corrected it; his bio states he was head conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, not the Philharmonic. RasputinAXP talk contribs 15:13, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Name
[edit]Although this article says that Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos is a Spanish name and for that reason 'Frühbeck' is his first family name and 'de Burgos' his second family name (that is inded the rule in Spanish), the truth is that his real name is 'Rafael Frühbeck Frühbeck' and the name 'Frühbeck de Burgos' is his artist name, so this has nothing to do with the Spanish naming system. See article in Spanish !
Right! "de Burgos" means "of Burgos" and has no relation to his mother's surname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Letrouvere (talk • contribs) 20:56, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I thought of the same thing and made the appropriate changes. I hope they stick. Roufu (talk) 05:59, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for corrections. It would be interesting if content were added about his parents' having the same surnames; sounds like a story of an interesting extended family.Parkwells (talk) 15:31, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
Composer?
[edit]The Lead says that he is a composer as well as a conductor, but the article does not provide information about his composed works. Needs expansion.Parkwells (talk) 15:31, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
